What This Site Does Not Do

Hosting and Server Logs

The site is delivered by our content delivery and hosting provider Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend Street, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA, a service provider acting on our instructions under a data processing agreement. To deliver a page and keep the service secure, the provider processes your IP address, the time of the request, the requested address, the referrer and your browser's user agent. The same applies when you open alpha-mem.com or www.alpha-mem.com, which only redirect to this site. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in delivering a secure website (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR). We do not receive or keep these request records ourselves. Cloudflare may process them outside the European Economic Area, including in the United States; we engage it on terms that require it to process the data only on our instructions and to protect it. You may ask us which basis applies to such a transfer, and for a copy of a written safeguard it rests on.

Email

If you write to us, we process your address and message to answer you (Art. 6 (1) (b) or (f) GDPR) and delete them when they are no longer needed, unless a legal retention period applies. Our mail is hosted by Google Workspace (Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland), acting on our instructions.

Update Notifications

If you ask us to be notified about ALPHA-Memory (the "Notify Me" link prepares that request as an email to updates@alpha-memory.com, sent from your own mail program), we keep your address and your request mail to send you occasional news about ALPHA-Memory, on the basis of your consent (Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR). You can withdraw that consent at any time, without affecting mail sent before, by replying "stop" or by writing to contact@alpha-memory.com; we then stop and remove your address from the list. We keep your request mail as proof of your consent for three years after you withdraw it (Art. 6 (1) (c) and (f) with Art. 7 (1) GDPR). We send these updates ourselves through the mail service named above; no newsletter service is involved.

Your Rights

You have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing and data portability (Art. 15-20 GDPR), and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, for example the Berlin Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information (Berliner Beauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit), the authority for our seat.

Your Right to Object

Where we process data on the basis of our legitimate interest (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR), you may object at any time, on grounds relating to your particular situation (Art. 21 (1) GDPR). Write to the contact address above.
